The Bashkan of Gagauzia, Evghenia Gutul, attended the Victory Parade in Moscow on Thursday. Her photos sitting on Red Square together with fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor and MP Marina Tauber appeared on social networks.

Gutul thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for the "invitation to participate in the festivities." She also noted that it was "a high sign of friendship and trust between our peoples."

"It is a great honor for me to represent Gagauzia and the whole Moldova at this event. (...) We forged the Great Victory together and today we are together again, because it is part of our common history. No one can break our centuries-old friendship!," Gutul said.

She urged the residents of Gagauzia to come out to the festive procession in Comrat and lay flowers at the Memorial of the Liberators' Warriors.

"This is the least we can do in memory of the warriors who saved humanity from fascism," she wrote.

Russian media reported earlier that Ilan Shor would hand over a piece of the eternal flame at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Alexandrovsky Garden in Moscow to every settlement in Moldova.

"We are descendants of great victors. Because this victory was one big, great country," stated Shor.
