Over the last four years the scientific activities in the field of nanotechnologies have been coordinated under the State Program on „Nanotechnologies and Nanomaterials”, the role of leading institution being attributed to the Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies „D. Ghiţu”.
FP7 project MOLD-ERA brings together partners from the UK, Germany, Israel and Moldova, being the first project to be coordinated by the Republic of Moldova (Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotehcnologies - IEEN) in the framework of the ERA-WIDE activity. With the duration of 30 months, starting in November 2010, MOLD-ERA has had a significant overall impact in terms of extending the existing facilities in the field of nanotechnology, providing world-class training program for young researchers in the nano-bioengineering and assisting researchers and staff from across Moldova to get better understanding of FP7 rules via focused trainings and help-desk support.
