​SECOND MUSICAL IMPROVISATION CONTEST HELD IN CHISINAU

The National Philharmonic is hosting the second Festival-Contest of Improvising Musicians, named after Moldovan violinist Denis Feofentov.

According to the public organization “Denis Feofentov Innovation Center of Cosmic Compositions”, musicians from Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will take part in the festival.

On the first day of the festival, each participant will have to perform two musical compositions: improvising on one of the provided ten themes by Denis Feofentov and one composition at the musician’s own choice.

On the second day of the festival, participants will again perform two pieces of music, while on the third day a Gala Concert will take place, where participants will be awarded.

Infotag’s dossier: Denis Feofentov was a young Moldovan improvising musician, graduate of the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts of Moldova. He was laureate of many international concerts, founder of several musical projects, improvising-composer. Denis died in 2014 in the East of Russia, where he was in tour. In his commemoration, Denis’ mother and his friends founded the public organization “Denis Feofentov Innovation Center of Cosmic Compositions”.
