MOLDOVA RECEIVES ONE MORE NO-WORK DAY IN LABOR CALENDAR – JUNE 1

27 may, 2016

The impressively long list of days off in Europe’s poorest country has been enriched with one more “red date” – June 1 by decision of the Moldovan Parliament, which today decided to thus pay tribute to the International Children’s Day marked worldwide at the beginning of summer. The no-work initiative came from the Liberal faction. Its Alina Zotea stated in substantiation of the initiative that “such a day-off is necessary to back children and stimulate them. Children can't feel a holiday when their parents spend the day not with them but at their jobs”. Most of deputies voted for an extra day off in the calendar, moreover – for starting a new June 1 tradition without a delay i.e. right from 2016.
