​PACE WINTER SESSION TO FOCUS ON PROBLEMS OF JOURNALISM AND MASS MEDIA IN EUROPE

The mass media and journalism in Europe is the main topic of the Winter Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to be held in Strasbourg on January 23-27. Debates are to take place on such issues as attacks against journalists and media in Europe, problems and accountability of online media outlets, the need to put an end to cyber-discrimination and to fomentation of hatred in the Internet. The Assembly will be addressed by President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis, President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn. Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland will address the forum with a message. Moldovan delegation to the Session will be led by MP Valentina Buliga, D, Chairperson of the parliamentary Standing Committee for Foreign Policy and European Integration.
