GERMANY HELPS REPAIR DONDUSENI KINDERGARTEN

Administration of the Donduseni kindergarten “Luceafarul” repaired the roof and the dining room, installed lighting and ventilation systems, replaced windows and doors, insulated the building and paved the courtyard with the assistance of the German State Bank KfW and the Fund for Social Investments of Moldova (FSIM).

According to the Fund, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Moldova Florian Seitz said at the Thursday’s opening ceremony that the country’s future is in children’s hands.

“Luceafarul is ready to receive 300 children. The German Government improved conditions in the kindergartens in accordance with European standards in order that nothing to threaten children’s health, education and development”, he said.

FSIM Executive Director Mircea Esanu said that for parents it is important to be sure of child’s safety

“Parents want to be sure that when they bring their child to kindergarten, he will not get sick in cold facility which is damp due to the leaking roof”, he said.

The opening ceremony culminated with the performance of kindergarten children.

The repairing of the kindergarten was implemented within the frameworks of FSIM project “The Social Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency”. The German Bank allocated 5 million euros for its implementation. The budget of repairs accounted for 2.68 million lei (130 thousand euros), 1.3 million of which is the bank’s grant, while the rest is local people’s contribution.
