LICA SAINCIUC PRESENTS AN EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS FOR CHILDREN AT ART MUSEUM

06 july, 2017

Moldovan artist, architect and designer Lica Sainciuc presented a collection of his works “Book illustrations for children” at the National Art Museum.

The exhibition will last till September 3. It consists of 160 works and is timed to the artist’s 70th anniversary.

“The exhibition is very important for us and for the artist, because Lica Sainciuc illustrates children’s book with a particular passion. He made graphical representation of fairy tales written by Grigore Vieru and Spiridon Vangheli. Neither children, nor parents remain indifferent to Sainciuc's mysterious sense of humor which is so vivid in his art”, said Director of the Museum Tudor Zbirnea.

“Illustration is a way of communication. They say that books and illustrations have appeared at the same time; I believe that illustrations appeared first of all, our ancestors communicated with their help. I communicate and work with our writers, and then I imagine my vision on their works. I am glad that young readers like my works. For me it’s the best reward”, said the artist.

Infotag’s dossier: Lica Sainciuc is chevalier of Order of Honor, was born on June 29, 1947 in Chisinau. About 50 years he has been working in the field of painting and theatre and decorative art. He illustrated more than 100 works of writers; he develops scenic design for plays in the theatres Licurici and Luceafarul. He received awards from the international book fairs for children and youth.
