TOURISM AGENCY DEVELOPED WINE ROUTE MOBILE APPLICATION TO ATTRACT TOURISTS

A new travel application Moldova Wine Route appeared on the market of new technologies. It was developed with the support of the National Tourism Agency and the Center for Wine Tourism Promotion in Moldova.

Agency Director Stanislav Rusu reported at the presentation of the application that the goal of the strategy for the tourism development is to modernize the industry through information technologies.

"The application creation is a necessary and long-expected innovation, as the wine tourism is the business card of the Republic of Moldova. The World Tourism Organization called Moldova - the Capital of Wine Tourism 2018; that is why next September we expect more than 250 experts from 70 countries to come to the international conference on wine tourism, who will be able to use the application services", he said.

The application is free and available in three languages: Romanian, Russian and English. It was created with the financial support of the German Government.

"It contains detailed information about 12 wineries ready to welcome guests: Cricova, Milestii Mici, Chateau Vartely, Purcari, Castel Mimi, Asconi, Migdal-P, Branesti, Et Cetera, KVINT, KaraGani and Carpe Diem. The application also includes recommendations for popular wine bars and shops in Chisinau", he said.

"Moldova is known for its excellent wines and age-old tradition of wine production. The consolidation of the wine tourism will contribute to economic development. We hope that Moldova Wine Route will be a useful tool for the tourists and will help enterprises to promote their products and services. Moldova offers testing of unique wines in its prestigious tasting rooms, as well as guided tours, meals in restaurants and accommodation on its world-known wineries", said representative of German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Käthe Brahan.
