MOLDOVAN GOVERNMENT TO ORGANIZE CHRISTMAS FAIR IN EUROPEAN STYLE

Christmas Fair in European style under the slogan “Christmas at Home!” will open in the August 31, 1989 Street of Chisinau on Friday.

According to the Government, the fir, installed near the National Palace was brought from Carpathians as a gift from the Romanian Government. It is decorated with 40 thousand garlands and 350 decorations.

“The fair will be divided into four areas: house of Mos Craciun [Santa Claus], where one can talk to the Santa and get a gift; the country’s largest ice skating rink; a huge 72-place merry-go-round; traditional handicraft and gastronomic zones in 20 wooden houses”, organizers said.

According to them, the ceremony of fair opening on Friday evening will be attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, while the program includes performances of ethno-folk collectives, musical bands Tharmis and Gandul Matei, singers Anisoara Puica, Vitalie Dani, Vali Boghean, Adrian Ursu.

Also, with the financial support of the Government, 4 thousand children from country disadvantaged families will visit the Christman fair.
