TELEFILM-CHISINAU STUDIO TO PRODUCE 10 DOCUMENTARIES THIS YEAR
The Teleradio-Moldova public broadcasting company has opened within its Telefilm-Chisinau Studio a new subdivision that is supposed to make 10 documentary films in 2018, six of which will be created with the financial assistance of the European Union and the Council of Europe within the Project called “Support for Media Independence and Pluralism in Moldova’.
At the subdivision opening ceremony held on Tuesday, Ambassador Peter Michalko, the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, said that the films concerned should show a realistic picture of the present-day Moldova to future generations, which is very important in the context of preserving the country’s cultural heritage.
Telefilm-Chisinau Director Mircea Surdu said that the national television will mark its 60th anniversary this year, and the Studio bears an honorable responsibility for the continuations of the good traditions of those who were creating high-quality films over years.
The Telefilm-Chisinau Studio was founded in 1967. It has produced more than 300 films, including “The Luceafarul” [Morning Star] by Emil Loteanu and “Cho-Cho-San” with legendary Maria Biesu starring.
