SWEDEN PROVIDES MODERN SOFTWARE FOR MOLDOVAN EMERGENCY CALL SERVICE 112

29 march, 2018

The Service of Emergency Calls 112 was equipped with software of the latest generation, provided by Sweden. This was announced by Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the Thursday's ceremony of the service launching.

He said that the work on the project started back in 2012, when the country leadership came to understanding of the necessity of coordinating the actions of three services - the police, the ambulance and the firefighters - via a single call center.

"The 112 service, which united the 901,902 and 903, will be working on higher quality standards on ensuring citizens' security. These standards have already been working in Europe for long time and we would like their soonest implementation in our country. After Sweden, Moldova became the second country in Europe with such modern software. Besides it, we have trained personnel and the desire to change the situation in this sphere to better, avoiding crises", the premier stressed,

He recognized that for him an example of true heroism of rescuers was the deed of four members of the helicopter crew of the Romanian service SARD, who were going to a seriously ill woman, but died due to bad weather in the south of Moldova in 2016.

"Our Romanian partners are not just good neighbors and reliable partners, but something more. It is such kind of people, who selflessly fulfill their duty, who will be working in the service that is opening today. They are the first to come to help our compatriots who got into trouble", he said.
