10 may, 2018

The Twenty Tu project on free education for children and teachers on modern technologies and changes in the education system has been launched in Moldova.

Anna Chirita, Executive Director of the National Association of IT companies in Moldova, reported at the project presentation that the Twenty Tu means XXII century - the future generation.

"Moldova is known for its access to education, and we want to improve its quality so that every citizen can get a decent education in his own country. We hope that this initiative will touch upon everyone by the opportunity to learn something new, interesting and useful. The project aims to help participants achieve more, find their vocation and develop professional skills", said Chirita.

Project manager Radu Mariana added that the project is designed for 80 thousand students and 2.2 thousand teachers.

"Education in schools will consist of four sections with tree disciplines each: school subjects studied by innovative methods, programming and engineering, creative subjects and vocational guidance for high school students. Thus, children will be able to study photoshop, mobile app development, animation, virtual reality and entrepreneurship in schools free of charge", he explained.

The project budget is 500 thousand euros; most of which are grants provided by the international and public organizations. The project will be implemented in Moldovan schools from January 2019 after the curriculum program modernization.
