MOLDOVAN METROPOLITAN CALLS ON CHISINAU AUTHORITIES TO PREVENT CONDUCTING SEXUAL MINORITY MARCH

Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova addressed a letter to Chisinau municipal authorities, in which he calls to prohibit the conducting of the solidarity march "Without Fear" the LGBT community is planning to hold on May 19 within the 17th festival of sexual minority festival "Moldova Pride 2018".

The letter says that this action is a threat to the moral, the saint institution of family and a fear for the young generation.

"This parade of minorities is groundlessly and publicly ignoring the values of the majority of our society, the Orthodox Christians - adherents to the Saint Gospell, according to which the marriage may be only between a man and a woman, but not between representatives of the same sex", wrote the head of the Moldovan Church.

He called on municipal authorities to prevent the propaganda of showing nontraditional behavior and sinfulness, which is more and more spreading in our native land.

His Holiness wonders how it is possible to achieve the protection of private rights of minority by means of humiliating and suppressing morality and feelings of the overwhelming majority - the Orthodox Christians.

As Infotag has already reported, the sexual minority festival, which will take place on May 16 through 20 is traditionally being conducted by the "Genderdoc-M" NGO, which is defending and promoting the rights of LGBT in Moldova. Ambassadors of the US, Sweden and the Netherlands are invited to the festival opening ceremony. It is expected the participation of European Parliament MPs as well. On May 17, the festival participants will be taken into a bus excursion, while on May 18 - a regional LGBT conference will take place, while on May 19 - a march, which will culminate with a fair.

In 2017, the LGBT march, held in conditions of counteraction from the side of thousands of Moldovan citizens, finished with the blocking of the column and the runaway of gay-activists.
