EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY OPENS IN PARLIAMENT

The Moldovan Parliament is hosting an exhibition, dedicated to 100th anniversary of declaring independence of the Czechoslovakia. Guests of the exhibition may get acquainted with historical events, depicted on stands.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Moldova Zdenek Krejci said that it is a great honor for him to take part in the opening of the exhibition, which reflects the most important historical events in Czechoslovakia and tells about important personalities who contributed to the country development.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Moldova Dusan Dacho said that for understanding the reasons of appearance of such a state as Czechoslovakia, one has to analyze the then situation in Europe.

He said that after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Slovaks and Czechs got the possibility to become independent.

According to Moldovan Deputy Speaker Valeriu Ghiletchi, the independent Czechia, just as Moldova is a result of Empire collapse, this is why an exhibition on such a topic was opened in the legislature.

Representative of the Czech Diaspora in Moldova presented folk dances and songs at the exhibition opening ceremony.
