RADU ALBOT REACHES QUARTERFINALS OF TENNIS TOURNAMENT IN HAMBURG (GERMANY)

The best Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot paired with Aysam-ul-Haq Kureshi (Pakistan), reached the quarter-finals of the prestigious international tennis tournament "Rotenbaum" series ATP 500. It is held annually on ground courts in Hamburg, Germany.

According to the sports correspondent, Radu and his partner had to win three victories for this. First in the qualifying matches over the pair Marcello Demoliner (Brazil) - Matve Middelkop (Holland) resulting in a technical victory, and then with a score of 2-1 (6-4, 6-7, 10-5) defeated Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz. And in the 1/8 final they defeated the British Jamie Morray and Neil Skupski with a score of 2-1 (0-6, 7-5, 10-8). Their opponents in the quarter-finals are determined today.

The tournament in Germany is also important for Albot because in 2020 it is held in the run-up to the French Open Roland Garros - one of the four Grand Slam tournaments.

As the father and the coach of the tennis player Vladimir Albot said, he declared Radu in the main grid, both, in singles and doubles.
