EUROPE CAFE INFORMATION CENTER OPENED IN CHISINAU

The European Union's information center called "Europe Cafe" was solemnly opened in Chisinau on Thursday. The inauguration ceremony was attended in person by Ambassador Peter Michalko, the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, and online - by Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Tulea and diplomats from European Union member countries.

Ambassador Michalko said that in Europe Cafe, all interested people will be learning more about the European Union's past, present and future as well as about the values that form the fundamentals of the European community.

The diplomat expressed hope that after the lifting of pandemic-caused restrictions, Europe Cafe will become a platform for debates and discussions, artistic and other exhibitions, film and book presentations, various arrangements dedicated to the EU cultural and cookery traditions.

Peter Michalko voiced hope Europe Cafe will become the European Union's heart in Chisinau and will help the people of all professions and ages to learn more about European Union countries and their values.

Foreign Minister Oleg Tulea said that from the very beginning, the European Union showed itself as Moldova's real friend, proving this in complicated-most situations and showing that "interaction makes us stronger".

Europe Cafe is situated in downtown Chisinau in Sciusev Street between the Streets of Nicolae Iorga and Maria Cebotari.
