TWO NEW TELEVISION CHANNELS TO START WORKING IN MOLDOVA SOON

Two new television channels, RLive TV and Cotidianul TV – CTV, will appear in Moldova soon. On Thursday, the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (ACC) issued operation licenses valid for 9 years to the new broadcasters, which are already working in the Internet as information portals.

The RLive-TV channel has been launched by Dumitru Tira, the former Director General of the Publica Media Group (2009-2013) belonging to oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc. Later on, Tira founded Realitatea Media Group that included reality show, Realitatea.md; realitatealive.md (rlive.md); golos.md; bani.md; kankan.md; topmedia.md; stireata.md.

“Our program service will be transmitted via the networks of service suppliers in the format of news. Out broadcasting grid will include nearly 20 creative and information shows. We want to bring live transmission of various events back on the television. Our goal is to present information to viewers as it is taking place”, Dumitru Tira said at the ACC meeting.

And the Cotidianul TV – CTV has been founded by a group of young journalists and launched with the support of the United States Embassy to Moldova by means of the Supporting Independent Media Program run by the U.S. Department of State.

Channel Director Cristian Cobuz said at the ACC meeting that the channel will be casting 16 hours per day in Moldovan cable networks, and that “We want to make a television about people and for people”.

The new channel will be working in the Romanian language. Its broadcast grid will include news and entertainment programs, talk shows, documentary films etc.
