​CENTER FOR FASHION DESIGNERS AND ENTREPRENEURS TO OPEN IN MOLDOVA

Moldova’s first center of perfection and promotion in the field of technology and design “ZIPhouse” will open in Chisinau on September 3 for young designers and business people in the fashion industry.

The organizers said that the innovational center is aimed at contributing to development of creative and technical skills and proposes to students resources, creative space and help of mentors, based on the international experience.

The Center’s modern building with the total area of 800 square meters is located near the third block of the Moldova Technical University. The internal space of the center allows working together, making research and be engaged in educational activity. Also there is the possibility of conducting seminars, fashion shows and photo sessions. Besides, students can access the electronic library, magazines, books and samples of fabrics.

300 square meters of the building were featured for design and production. Processing lines with modern equipment can be used both for training and for experiments – young designers will have the opportunity to create their own mini-collections.

Infotag’s dossier: The Center was built with the assistance of the Education Ministry, Moldova Technical University and the Employers’ Association of Light Industry Enterprises (APIUS) within the Competitiveness Enhancement and Enterprise Development Project (CEED-II), financed by the US Agency for International Development. The cost of the project is of US$325 thousand. US$100 thousand out of this sum was provided by the Moldovan side.
