​ROMANIAN EXPERTS TO BUILD WIND FARM IN VULCANESTI

The Romanian representation of the Renovatio Group is ready to build a park of wind-driven electric plants of 60 turbines of 12 megawatts capacity in Vulcanesti town in southern Moldova. The corresponding project, developed by the Romanian specialists with the assistance of the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank, was presented to the Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy Stephane Christophe Bride on Thursday.

The wind-driven electric plant, after the designers’ calculations, will be producing 430-500 gigawatts/hours of electricity per year, which will account for 10-13% of the annual electricity consumption in Moldova.

Renovation representatives said that the company already has a technical opinion for grid connection, feasibility study, geotechnical investigation, and assessment of the impact on the environment, topographical survey and a plot of land for construction already allotted. It remains to complete the contract on connection and to obtain authorization for construction. After the completion of works in 2016, the company intends to obtain the license for electricity production issued by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).

Minister welcomed the initiative of the Romanian partners, noting that the importance of implantation of projects in renewable energy to enhance energy security of Moldova.

“The photovoltaic systems, wind turbines and other natural sources of energy in Europe have a significant share in total consumption. We also strive to ensure that the share of alternative energy in Moldova has increased”, he said.
