MOLDOVAN ACCREDITATION SYSTEM HARMONIZING WITH EU NORMS IS IMPORTANT – PIRKKA TAPIOLA

07 octomber, 2015

Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola, Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova regards as important the approximation of Moldovan accreditation system with European community norms.

The Ambassador said during Wednesday’s presentation of the Twinning Light Project “Support to the National Accreditation Center MOLDAC”, financed by the EU, that the accreditation system has an essential role in establishing products’ quality.

One of elements of RM-EU Association Agreement is the requirement to maximally improve the national accreditation system of Moldova. This work has been started by Moldovan specialists and partners from the EU back in 2013, said he.

“In late autumn 2014 we successfully completed the preliminary stage of two systems’ rapprochement. I suppose that the project, presented today, will be equally successful. It should be understood that Moldovan companies got access to one of world’s largest markets – the EU market. However, an open economy, based on a healthy competition, implies efficient systems of goods’ quality within the country. I think that the experience of Italian colleagues in the field of accreditation will be highly useful for Moldova, as the final goal of existence of accreditation norms is protection and promotion of the rights of goods and services’ purchaser”, Tapiola said.

According to Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy Christophe Stephane Bride, Italian partners have a great experience in the system of establishing and certifying the quality of goods, as well as interaction with nongovernmental organizations in this field.

“I am sure that these skills in practical and theoretical fields, as well as know-how in the field of accreditation will help to the coming-into-being of domestic specialists”, he said.

Head of the ACCREDIA Agency Filippo Trifiletti said that the organization he represents will be the basic partner in the Project Twinning Light till 2017.

“The organization has 67 members, 9 of which are Italian ministries, including the Ministry of Economic Development. In the agency there are 478 experts, while its basic structures are located in Milan (certification center), Roma (testing laboratory) and Torino (quality laboratory). We also have great experience in winemaking”, he said.
