​AWARENESS IS BASIS FOR RIGHT CHOICE OF EXPORT MARKETS – MIEPO’S DIRECTOR DONA SCOLA

Awareness is the basis for the correct choice of the export markets – said Director General of the Investment and Export Promotion (MIEPO) Dona Scola at the opening of the forum PRO EXPORT 2015 on Thursday.

According to Infotag, she said the forum was aimed to create a permanent platform for the development of exports based on three elements of the successful export strategy - markets, finance and information.

"They are key elements, because it is necessary to diversify the markets where we sell products. In 2016, we will hold a competition to identify the most successful exporters and to motivate beginners. We are also planning to hold the courses to help the entrepreneurs to learn how and where to export goods. We will do all this with the help of the Academy of Exporters”, she said.

Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic said the statistics data showed the decline in exports in the first nine months of 2015 by 16% and imports - by 23%.

“Our foreign direct investments have jammed. This forum is a kind of assistance in the search for the effective economic decision-making”, said Calmic, informing businesspeople that the authorities plan to amend the tax and customs codes of Moldova.

Infotag’s dossier: The first exporters’ forum was held in 2013. This year the event is organized in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, the USAID project to improve competitiveness through development and innovation (CE-WIN), the World Bank project “Improving the competitiveness” (PAC II) as well as with the private sector.
