​MOLDELECTRICA AND ROMANIAN TRANSELECTRICA SIGN COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The Moldovan state enterprise Moldelectrica signed on Tuesday an agreement of cooperation in the field of electricity with the Romanian company Transelectrica.

According to the Economy Ministry, the ceremony was held within the meeting of the joint working group in the field of energy, active within the framework of the Moldovan-Romanian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation. During the meeting, the stakeholders discussed coordination of projects on interconnecting electric and gas transporting lines of the two countries.

First of all, it is about the extension of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline to Chisinau in the territory of Moldova and to Onesti – in the territory of Romania. In the field of electric energy, this concerns high voltage electric transmission line (ETL) Isaccea-Vulcanesti-Chisinau.

On the basis of the agreement between operators, they will cooperate both in implementing this project and in chat concerns the Iasi-Ungheni-Straseni and Suceava-Balti ETLs, as well as building of back-to-back stations for these.

The document provides the implementation of investments in modernizing and development of infrastructure of the Moldova’s electric energy sector, as well as providing technical assistance by means of providing high quality experts and specialists.
