​MOLDOVAN EXPORTS FALLING, RE-EXPORTS GROWING

Moldovan economic agents supplied abroad goods worth almost US$905.4 million in 1H2016, of which goods of domestic origin – worth only 571.4 million which is 13.3% less than over the equivalent period of 2015.

At the same time, the re-exports grew to US$333.9 million, which accounts for 36.9% of all the goods, supplied abroad.

The main exported items are industrial goods, whose share in the total amount of exports grew to 24.9% from 21.2% over a year. Also, the exported volumes of machinery and equipment for vehicles grew to 16.5% from 15.6%. At the same time the food products and livestock share fell by 4.5% at once – to 20.8%.

Imports to Moldova fell by 5.9% – to US$1,869 million.

The trade balance deficit fell by 2.9% – to US$963.6 million. Exports covered 48.4% of imports against 50% a year earlier.
