​KAUFLAND ANNOUNCES LARGE-SCALE PROJECTS IN MOLDOVA

One of the European largest retail companies –Kaufland, is planning to come to the Moldovan market.

According to the economy ministry, its investment will account for 60 million euros, with the help of which nearly 1 thousand jobs with minimal salary of 7.5 thousand lei.

According to General Director of Kaufland Romania Marco Hossl, the strategy of company development consists of adaptation to the regional market specificity, thus the cooperation with local Moldovan producers is one of Kaufland’s priorities.

“We already have partnership relations with some Moldovan producers, whose goods are presented in our markets in Romania, which is favorable for exports of Moldovan agricultural goods”, he said.

“The range of local products Kaufland will propose to consumers in Moldova initially will cover 3 thousand names. Also Kaufland is preparing the program for agricultural producers’ development. It is completely financed by the Kaufland company. In this way, we will propose to local producers free consultation services for soil and water analysis, development and implementation of individual plans, which will allow Moldovan agrarians getting prestigious international certificates of quality and food safety GLOBALG. A. P. (Good Agricultural Practices). Their availability will give the possibility to export Moldovan goods to other countries”, the manager explained.

All Moldovan farmers may benefit from this program, regardless of whether they have a contract with Kaufland or not.

“Besides projects of selective processing, we are using modern energy efficiency technologies. Kaufland Romania shops are heated by means of an eco-system, based on recuperation of heat from shop windows and cold storages, which allows saving natural resources”, Marco Hossl said.

Kaufland representative Anna Katharina Scheidereiter said that by means of social programs, the company is helping changing people’s life to better.

“Being a part of the society, we are actively participating in its development, using not only material resources, but dedicating our time, putting our heart into this. Kaufland launched a campaign on Chisinau greening “Planting Oxygen”, which will take place on April 8, 2017”, she said.
