AIPA STARTS ACCEPTING DOCUMENTS FROM FARMERS FOR RECEIVING SUBSIDIES

28 june, 2017

The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture has started on Tuesday the acceptance of documents from agricultural producers for getting subsidies, said AIPA Director Nicolae Cubuc at today’s press conference.

He explained such a belated start of acceptance by the fact that the regulation of distribution of the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development financial means was adopted by the Government recently.

Ciubuc reminded that 900 million lei are provided in the Fund for subsidies, 335 million of which have already been used for covering the 2016 arrears to farmers.

“The remaining 565 million lei should be enough to satisfy all the applications, but if the demand for subsidies is high, a part of statements will again be left for the beginning of the next year, regardless whether the state budget is approved or not”, he said.

According to the Director, next years the acceptance of applications will start from November 1.

As Infotag has already reported, initially the 2016 Agricultural Subsidy Fund accounted for 900 million lei. However, 480 million of these went to repayment of arrears for 2014-2015. Besides, the Government reduced the Fund by 200 million lei within the revision of the 2016 budget.
