SOLAR BATTERY PRODUCTION LINE LAUNCHED IN BALTI

Moldova's first line for the production of sun collectors was launched at the Raut enterprise in Balti.

According to the Economy Ministry, the production was established within the project on strengthening local potential for issuing solar batteries in Moldova, implemented by the Energy Efficiency Agency (EEA) with the support of the Polish Government within the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

The technological line and vacuum tube for producing first 100 solar batteries were brought from Poland, its specialist also helped in training Moldovan workers.

The Balti plant was chosen by the EEA as project beneficiary on the contest basis, which provided assistance in technology transfer and will be controlling the project implementation.

The UNIDO, in its turn, provided technical assistance worth 170 euros in the form of equipment, spare parts and materials, as well as personnel training.

Raut will be assembling solar batteries for a period of at least three years, as well as will be selling it both on the Moldovan market and abroad.

Infotag's dossier: Raut dates back to 1944 when the Balti mechanic plant on producing wood processing and grinding equipment was created on the basis of private ateliers. Since 1954 it is producing navigation hydro-acoustic and hydro-location means and stations. Currently, it is also producing hydro-acoustic and navigation equipment. It is the main administrator of the name-sake industrial park.
