OVER 100 MOLDOVAN BUSINESS PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM SIMPLIFIED CUSTOMS PROCEDURE

More than 100 Moldovan economic agents took advantage of the simplified customs procedure in Moldova.

Director of the Customs Service Vitalie Vrabie said at the Tuesday’s meeting of the consultative committee for exports that the simplification concerned the process of getting the status of an authorized exporter, exempt the economic agent of the need to get certificate on goods’ origin from the customs service and gives the right to confirm the preferential origin of goods despite of their cost.

According to him, such a status was already given to 14 economic agents, 107 business people more are using advantages of the status of an Authorized economic operator, the owner of which has to undergo less physical and legal inspections, besides, benefitting of priority status in case of the need to conduct additional control by the Customs Service.

Business people, present at the meeting, said that for exporters of the southern region it is very important the functioning of the customs point Giurgiulesti-Galati. In particular, a fast passing of the freight road transport with perishable goods through control.

Vrabie said that on this customs station the building of a special point for freight transport has already been started which will considerably reduce the time of checking and will prevent the appearance of queues.
