AGRICULTURE DEPUTY MINISTER AGREES TO RESTRICT ADVERTISEMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES EXCEPT WINE

The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment welcomes the restriction of advertisement of alcoholic beverages, but excepting wine, which is Moldova’s national pride.

This was stated by Deputy Minister Vasile Luca at the Friday’s sitting, dedicated to the start of campaign of harvesting grapes, stressing that the republic has to develop the culture of consuming quality wine, for which a number of important events are planned.

“When we transferred wine in the category of food products, we wanted to simplify life to winemakers and to extend opportunities for promoting wine products, but at the last 100 meters, many provisions of the bill were excluded from the final version”, he said.

At the meeting it was said that the problem of alcoholism is first of all connected with the fact that the population prefers to consume domestic wine.

Infotag’s dossier: At the beginning of July, the Parliament approved in a first reading the draft law on toughening demands to alcohol advertisement. The author of this law is Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
