DA DEPUTY CHAIRMAN CRITICIZES THE PROPOSAL ON COMPENSATIONS FOR CREATING JOBS

04 octomber, 2017

Deputy Chairman of the “Demnitate si Adevar” [DA, “Dignity and Justice”] Party Alexandru Slusari criticized in social networks the Ministry of Economy’s initiative on compensations for investors, who created new jobs in Moldova, which was presented at a business forum in Chisinau on Tuesday. He wrote on his page that such a measure will be discriminative against the micro, small and medium enterprises of the republic.

“Let me remind you that in small enterprises in Moldova the number of employees should not exceed 49 people, while in medium companies – 249. But the specificity of Moldova consists of the fact that companies with 100 or more employees are not classified as medium-sized enterprises due to the cost of assets and the turnover”, Slusari wrote.

According to the opposition politician, the idea of issuing money for new jobs will be encouraging just a small group of large companies in Moldova.

“Such a management policy of the Government will ensure to Plahotniuc’s clan even greater strengthening of control over business in the country, but definitely not the development of economy. Unfortunately, the real support to micro-, small and medium enterprises has long remained just on paper”, maintains the former Chairman of the National Union of Agricultural Producers' Associations UniAgroProtect.

Deputy Premier, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Octavian Calmic said at the Moldova Business Week 2017, which was opened on Tuesday, the Government developed a mechanism of subsidizing the creation of new jobs in Moldovan enterprises. Thus, for each new job, the investor will get compensation worth 40 thousand lei. The mechanism should be approved by the end of October. Among requirements to economic agents, Calmic pointed that the minimum number of employees at the enterprise should be not less than 100, while the salary should be not smaller than 75% of the country’s average wage.
