GOVERNMENT CAREFULLY FORECASTS GROWTH OF MACROECONOMIC RATES IN 2018

The forecast of the main macroeconomic rates, on which the draft 2018 State Budget is based, was elaborated carefully, as thus there are reserves for additional growth, said Finance Minister Octavian Armasu.

At the Thursday's debates on discussing the bill of 2018 State Budget in the parliament building, he said that the growth of economy is targeted within 3%, consumer price index - 3.5% by the end of the year, average rate of Moldovan leu against the US dollar - MDL17.58 and 17.9.

Exports are planned within US$2.54 billion, which is 8% more than in 2017, while imports worth US$5 - the growth of 6% and more.

"The growth of agricultural production is forecasted within 1%, investments in long-term tangible assets - 4%. The average nominal monthly wage will account for 6150 lei in 2018, which is 7.9% more than this year, while the salary fund will reach 42.6 billion lei, which is 7.2% more", the Minister said.

The main macroeconomic indicators were developed by the Ministry of Finance together with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. These underwent detailed procedure of discussion in the National Bank and by International Monetary Fund representatives.
