MOLDOVAN GDP GREW 3.8% OVER 9 MONTHS

The Moldovan GDP exceeded 109,443 million lei (US$6,253 million) in January-September in current market prices, growing in real terms by 3.8% against the equivalent period of 2016.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the gross value added in economy grew 3.3%, accounting for 84% of the GDP.

In the 3rd quarter, the GDP grew 3.6% against the second quarter of 2017.

Infotag’s dossier: In 2016 the GDP was 134.476 million lei (US$6.723 billion) in current market prices, growing in real terms by 4.1% over a year.

According to the recent forecasts of the Ministry of Economy, the GDP growth in 2017 will account for 3.5% at the previously expected 4.5%. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank agree with these targets.
