ECONOMY MINISTER TRAVELS TO SOUTHERN MOLDOVA

Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici has conducted a whole number of meetings while traveling to the southern Moldova last Saturday.

According to the Ministry, in particular he visited the Cimislia bus station, talked to its administration, drivers and passengers to find out about urgent problems. As a result, a decision was taken to improve the sanitary zone for passengers.

At the meeting with Gagauzia Bashkan [governor] Irina Vlah, the two officials discussed the work of free economic zones in the autonomy, the need to rehabilitate the road infrastructure in the region and the activity of Moldova-Turkey Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Gaburici called to develop joint projects in such fields as industry, transport, infrastructure, to create conditions for business environment and become attractive for foreign investors.

During his visit of the Free International Port Giurgiulesti, he met with Danube Logistics Director General Thomas Moser, got acquainted with the services, provided by the port.

The discussion about the development of sea transport continued with the participation of the Ungheni port Vladimir Medvedev, who discussed in detail the difficulties, connected with the development of navigation on the Prut River and the Dniester River.

The Minister promised to do his best for developing passenger and cargo transportation by sea and river transport.
