ANRE APPROVES NEW METHODOLOGY OF CALCULATING ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION TARIFF

22 february, 2018

The National Energy Regulatory Agency has approved a new methodology of calculating the tariff on electricity distribution.

ANRE representative Alexandru Ursu said that the document was developed in accordance with the updated legislation in this sector and will allow establishing the tariff on the basis of factual expenditures, excluding the chance of including unjustified or unregulated costs.

“The new methodology takes into account the provisions of the 3rd Energy package, which will contribute to the liberalization of energy market and will exclude its monopolization”, he said.

ANRE Director Tudor Copaci said that the methodology was developed in a close collaboration with market operators, 80% requirements of which were taken into account in the document.

“The tariff will include factual expenditures for distribution over the previous years. If these fell, respectively the tariff will be lower”, he assured.

As for the updating of tariffs for consumers, the director said that this will depend on a range of macroeconomic indicators and first of all on the purchasing price on electricity, which will be established after choosing new suppliers starting from April 1.
