31 may, 2018

Gagauzia is demonstrating a real wish to attract foreign investors in its economy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Moldova, H.E. Mr. Masanobu Yoshii, stated during his visit to the automotive wire manufacturing enterprise being built by the Fujikura Company of Japan in Comrat town, the administrative center of the southern Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia.

Ambassador Yoshii said that Fujikura is going to employ up to 3 thousand local workers at its plant in Comrat.

"Presently, an analogous enterprise in Chisinau is employing 1.3 thousand workers. The Company has repeatedly confirmed to me their intention to extend the business in Gagauzia. The creation of new jobs is the most important thing not only for Gagauzia but for Moldova as a whole", said the Ambassador of Japan.

The diplomat voiced confidence that if this project is a success, other foreign investors will come here as well, "and these should not necessarily be Japanese companies. These may be investors from Europe or other regions".

On Wednesday, Gagauzia Governor Irina Vlah, Moldovan Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici and a group of foreign specialists and diplomats visited the Fujikura plant being built in Comrat.
