ECONOMY MINISTRY ASKS THE COURT TO CANCEL ANRE DECISION ON RAISING FUEL PRICES

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure expressed disagreement with the National Energy Regulatory Agency decision to raise the maximum retail prices on gasoline and diesel by 0.32-0.34 lei per liter and addressed to court with a demand to cancel this decision.

According to the Ministry, its specialists, as well as experts from the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Supervision maintain that the decision was taken illegally, without consultations with interested persons and with insufficient transparency.

The Ministry reminds that according to the law, the sittings of the ANRE Administrative Board, where the issues of regulated tariffs and prices are considered, should be conducted after public consultations and project discussions.
