TRANS OIL SIGNS AGREEMENT TO GET CREDIT FOR BUYING MOLDOVAN AGRICULTURAL GOODS

The “Trans Oil” group of companies will get a credit worth US$240 million for buying agricultural goods of 2018 harvest from Moldovan producers and economic agents.

On Wednesday, the company leadership signed an Agreement on syndicated credit with international banking consortium, which includes Societe Generale Paris, ING Belgium, UniCredit Bank Austria AG, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, FIMBank p.l.c, Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij voor Ontwikkelingslanden N.V., Arab Bank Ltd. and Banque Cantonale Vaudoise.

Trans Oil President Vaja Jhashi said that due to cooperation with international financial institutions, the group may guarantee to agricultural producers the timely payment for their products at most favorable prices.

“Our goal is not only to ensure comfortable export possibilities for Moldovan producers, but also to timely pay to them for the goods at the most profitable prices”, he said, adding that in this season the Trans Oil plans to buy over 1.2 million tons of grain (wheat, barley, rapeseed, corn, peas), 500 thousand tons of sunflower seeds and 100 thousand tons of soybean.

As Infotag has already reported, the Trans Oil raised the transshipment capacity in the Giurgiulesti International Free Port (Moldova), bringing it to 1,600,600 metric tons of the transshipped agricultural goods per year.

A new oil extracting facility was launched at the Moldova’s largest fat and oil factory “Floarea Soarelui” in Balti. It allows processing over 300 thousand tons of sunflower seed per year. Besides, there is a fat and oil factory in Ceadir-Lunga – Trans Oil Refinery with production capacity of over 135 thousand tons of seeds per year.

The Trans Oil group is Moldova’s largest buyer and exporter of grain and oil crops. It holds 16 elevators all across the country, with a capacity of over 750 thousand tons; two grain terminals and a sunflower oil terminal in the Giurgiulesti Port; a number of agricultural, transporting, infrastructural enterprises, including in Ukraine; personal fleet of modern railroad cars, as well as a modern road vehicle fleet for cargo transportation.
