MOLDOVA AND RUSSIA TO ENHANCE TRADE IN AGRICULTURAL GOODS

20 july, 2018

The Moldovan National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and the RosSelhozNadzor [Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance] will organize a working meeting for detailed consideration of all the issues that concern the mutual trade in both animal-origin and plant products.

According to the RosSelhozNadzor website, a corresponding agreement was achieved in a telephone talk, during which the issues on supplying Russian animal-origin products to the Moldovan market were discussed.

The RosSelhozNadzor proposed to Moldovan colleagues to visit Russia for assessing the state veterinary control system, which includes the inspection of domestic enterprises, familiarization with the work of inspector personnel and the activity of the subordinated research institutions and laboratories.

Besides, the RosSelhozNadzor asked the Moldovan side to direct to the Service the legislative norms that entered into force this year and regulate the conducting of mandatory inspections at cattle-breeding enterprises for supplying goods from importing countries.

The RosSelhozNadzor also addressed to Moldovan colleagues with the demand to answer to Service requests that concern exports to Moldova of Russian goods of low risk, in particular forages.

As Infotag has already reported, the products of animal origin may be imported by over 180 Russian enterprises. In its turn, the RosSelhozNadzor seriously restricted the supplying of Moldovan goods to Moldova under various pretexts over the last several years. Not a single Moldovan company is allowed to supply the finished meat products to Russia; milk and dairy products – only two companies, meat – three enterprises. As for the plant products, not more than 100 Moldovan companies are allowed to import their goods to Russia, which is three-fold less than before 2014.
