COMMUNISTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN UPCOMING PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

26 july, 2018

The Moldovan Communist Party will take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections, nominating its candidates both on party lists and in single-mandate constituencies. This was announced on Wednesday at the sitting with the party committees’ first secretaries.

According to the MCP website, the leader of Moldovan Communists Vladimir Voronin characterized the socio-political situation in the country as catastrophic, saying that the Parliament at its sittings is considering unimportant issues, while the Government is one of the most incompetent over the republic’s entire history.

“In the run-up to the parliamentary elections, the authorities are trying to start populist tax initiatives, which have positive effect neither on the country’s economy, nor on citizens’ social status”, the ex-president said.

A particular concern was expressed in connection with the upcoming, hastily adopted and clearly ill-conceived reform of the healthcare system, saying that in fact the Government initiates a complete extermination of the public sector of medical services.

First secretaries of MCP raion organizations and the Balti municipal organization were ordered to explain to electors the essence of the antisocial and anti-popular policy of authorities and their satellites in the face of the Party of Socialists, as well as to enhance efforts on subscribing to the “Communist” newspaper.

Despite the starting vacations, the MCP and public organizations which support it are going to hold a number of traditional events. In particular it is about the conducting of the summer school of Komsomol [Communist Youth], organizing the celebration of the 74th anniversary of Moldova liberation from Fascist invaders and Romanian occupants on August 24.
