AIPA CREDITS 2.37 THOUSAND FARMERS’ REQUESTS ON SUBSIDIES

The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) has transferred 326 million lei to Moldovan farmers in the first half of the year, satisfying 2.47 thousand applications.

According to the Agency, this amount included 221 million lei of subsidies for 1.5 thousand farmers, which remained outstanding in 2017, as well as 116 million lei for 945 beneficiaries of the current year.

With this money, the recipients opened 42 new businesses and created 900 new jobs, 38.6% of which are for women.

As many as 1303 farmers filed applications during the first six months of the year, including 22.6% - farmers aged up to 35. More than a quarter of the subsidies went to the lay out and the stumping of perennial plantings.

For the second half of the year, the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development has 527 million lei for subsidies. Applications for subsidies are accepted until October 31.
