INVESTMENTS TO MOLDOVA DEPEND ON FORESIGHT OF INVESTORS AND AUTHORITIES - ALEXANDER KOSS

21 september, 2018

The Foreign Investors Association (FIA) has marked the 15th anniversary of its activity on the Moldovan market. Opening in 2003, it became the first noncommercial and nonpolitical union of companies with foreign capital.

The jubilee was celebrated in a solemn atmosphere under the slogan "15 Years of Investments in Moldova's Future". At the Thursday's reception, FIA Chairman Alexander Koss, who is also Speaker of the Board of the Sudzucker Moldova enterprise, said that foreign investors not just brought money to the republic.

"We created around us an environment able not only to ensure sustainable development for our business, but also to positively influence the development of the entire country. Today, the perspective of investments in Moldova, including those foreign, directly depends on how farsighted the investors and the Government will be and how they will respond to global and local challenges", Koss said.

He added that investors do not want to measure everything in short periods of time - from elections to other elections.

"The Foreign Investors Association is outside politics and is able to efficiently interact with any Government. The 15th experience of FIA and especially the last two years demonstrated that our expertise and the vision of perspectives are all the time demanded", he stressed.

Currently, FIA is made of 18 members from 11 countries. They represent Moldova's largest companies with foreign capital, where over 16.5 thousand people are working. The volume of FIA members' investments exceeds 1 billion euros.
