ROAD BUILDING COMPANY REGISTERS TURNOVER OF 220 MILLION LEI IN 2018

The National Project "Roads for Moldova" has breathed life in the country's road industry, which getting orders is increasing production turnover.

According to General Director of the large road building company "Dromas-Cons" Petru Dacin, in 2018 the enterprise which holds four modern asphalt-concrete plants and several sections on road building and repairing, has registered a turnover of 220 million lei.

"Before the end of the year this rate will exceed 250 million lei. This year, the company transferred 25 million lei of taxes to state budget, which delights me, as by means of these deductions, the state is getting profit from the national program of road building and repairing", said the company manager, which is holding this post, even being in retirement for already two decades.

The 81-year-old Petru Dacin is full of enthusiasm, forces and energy to build quality roads and states that Moldova still lags behind the European countries in this field.

"In 2018, we mastered 160 million lei for repairing roads in Nisporeni and Floresti raions and now we are getting ready for a new season to successfully start working in 2019", the manager said.

Talking about strategically important goal the state is addressing by means of road repairing, especially in rural areas, the experienced builders are pointing at the need of tough control of work, performed by road workers.

"The control will allow avoiding cases when companies, which do not have production basis for this, become contractors. Sometimes, such companies are created for the concrete project, to get financing, but they do not have technical possibilities to execute repairs and meet all the norms and standards", said the manager, adding that such type of contractors generate debts in the sector, failing to pay for the building materials. For example, the accounts receivable to the "Dromas-Cons" for the supplied asphalt and other materials accounted for 22 million lei as of the beginning of October.
