ECONOMY MINISTRY TO INTRODUCE NEW ROAD REPAIR TECHNOLOGY IN MOLDOVA

Moldova intends to implement a technology, which will halve the cost of road repairing, stated Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici during his trip to Calarasi, where an exhibition of new technologies in the field of road repairing took place.

According to the ministry, the new technology will allow renouncing the importing of building materials, as these will be produced inside the country. The innovation was already tested on the 1-km section of road in the raion.

According to the minister, the company which is implementing the new technology, is developing modern, quality and sustainable technologies for road building and repair, while using a new method instead of the traditional, the Moldovan roads will be commissioned twice faster.

"The roads will be built with using of local materials, while the costs of their repairing will considerably fall. I want that the international practices to be applied in Moldova. Acting on the basis of international standards, working efficiently, we can have a good infrastructure each of us will benefit from", Gaburici said, without disclosing any details about the new technology or the contractor company's name.

He said that repairs and building works will be monitored by experts from a special working group to establish fields where the implementation of the new technology will allow extending it across the entire republic.

The ministry reminded that in May, Gaburici met with representatives of one of German companies and asked them to bring to Moldova samples of equipment and modern machinery, which may be used in the project "Good Roads for Moldova".
