RUSSIA PROPOSES TO MOLDOVA TO ELABORATE A BRAND “MADE FOR RUSSIA”

23 november, 2018

Representatives of the Russia’s business circles proposed to Moldova to develop a brand “Made for Russia”, which would be used at marking goods of Moldovan origin, which underwent the complete control and are designed for exporting to the Russian market.

This topic was discussed at the sitting of the Moldovan-Russian Economic Council, attended by Moldovan President Igor Dodon in Moscow.

Chairman of the Council from the Russian side, Co-Chairman of the “Business Russia” Association Andrei Nazarov said that a joint enterprise “Moldovan Russian Trade House” will be the operator of the brand “Made for Russia”, which is working given the peculiarities of the two countries’ jurisdictions and ensures maximum efficient interaction between the two countries’ national businesses. Co-Chairmen of the Council agreed to launch it by the second Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum, which will be held in Chisinau in September 2019.

The pilot region for supplying goods under the new brand will be the Republic of Bashkortostan [a federal subject of Russia] in order that later to apply the experience of this region all across Russia.

Nazarov proposed to bring the control stations as closer to the producer as possible, for example by means of organizing a logistic hub in Moldova, where not only the producer side, but also the consumer side – specialists of the Russian sanitary and customs control – will be checking the quality of goods.

President Igor Dodon took the floor at the sitting and said that today Russia has just one station where Moldovan goods may be cleared for supplying to other regions, besides Moscow, adding that there should be at least several such stations.

After the sitting, he wrote on his Facebook page: “As of the end of the first joint forum, Russian business people declared about their readiness to raise the volume of investment to Moldova to at least US$1 billion per year. This is only at the first stage. Within the sitting, we decided that the next forum will take place in September-October 2019 in Chisinau. I think that the held council sitting was a new successful stage of implementing the strategic program of rehabilitation of full-fledged trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation”.

Also, a number of new projects were presented at the sitting: the Moldova-Russia Trade House and an economic portal, which will be official link between entrepreneurs of the two countries, will help them seek investors and will allow them to operatively get consultations at document registration.
