AIPA RESUMES AUTHORIZATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 SUBSIDIES

The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) resumed the process of authorizing the applications on getting the subsidies, submitted last year. The process was suspended due to reaching of the limit of the available funds in the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to the AIPA, the resumption was due to the entrance into force of the Law on the 2019 State Budget. Year to date, 216 applications worth 12.6 million lei have already been approved. In total, the Agricultural Subsidy Fund for 2019 includes 900 million lei.

Last year, the agency accepted 7.4 thousand applications from farmers, while the total requested sum exceeded 1 billion lei. In 2018, 640 million lei from the National Fund were paid to 4.6 thousand farmers.

Infotag's dossier: The National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund implies 900 million lei for subsidies, but 220 million lei were directed to liquidation of 2017 arrears, 46 million lei were redirected to the Vine and Wine Fund, 45 million were reserved for providing subsidies in advance.
