UKRAINE APPRECIATES COOPERATION WITH MOLDOVA IN DCFTA IMPLEMENTATION

First Deputy Premier, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv met with Moldovan Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici in Kiev on Monday.

The Ukrainian premier said Ukraine highly appreciates cooperation with Moldova in practical implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) with the EU by Chisinau and Kiev authorities.

He also confirmed Ukraine’s intention to support Moldova in implementing investment projects on several directions of common interest.

“We treasure our friendship with the Republic of Moldova and hope for further extension and deepening of cooperation”, Kubiv said.

As for the process of DCFTA implementation, the sides agreed that due to this document, the number of the two countries’ companies, which are exporting to the EU, considerably grew since 2015.

Gaburici also expressed satisfaction with the growth of trade turnover between the two states, saying that Ukraine is holding the 5th place in the list of Moldova’s largest trade partners.

“Ukraine is an important partner for our country and I want that our bilateral relations to keep strengthening. For Moldova it is important that the produced goods to be present on the Ukrainian market”, he said.

The meeting took place within the Moldovan delegation’s visit to the 2nd Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting on Trade. Among other discussed topics there were joint infrastructural projects, including railroad and informational technologies, transport cooperation and developing of joint tourist routes.
