ANSA PREPARES ADDITIONAL LIST OF FRUIT SUPPLIERS TO RUSSIA

11 july, 2019

The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) prepares an additional list of Moldovan fruit exporters to the Russian markets.

According to the Agency, the RosSelKhozNadzor [Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance] made a corresponding request to the Moldovan Agency, explaining that it is the matter of products with tariff codes 0808 and 0809, i.e. apples, pears, quince, apricots, cherries, peaches, plums and thorns.

From this perspective, the Agency analyses and updates domestic agricultural producers’ applications submitted in 2016. The applicants must be registered in the ANSA information system “Phytosanitary certification”, have their own production infrastructure and logistics for the delivery of grown products without intermediaries.

The list must be presented to the Russian side no later than July 15. Prior to that, the Agency specialists will check the compliance of economic agents with the conditions laid down.

So far, there is no exact list of fruit suppliers to the Russian markets neither on the ANSA’s website nor on the RosSelKhozNadzor website. In June, several consignments of strawberries, transported to Russia, were deployed at the border by the Russian Agency’s inspectors, under the pretext of quarantine pests found in the strawberries.
