MOLDOVA IT PARK DECLARED ONE OF WORLD’S BEST PRACTICES ON PROMOTING AND DEVELOPING IT ECOSYSTEM

The International Telecommunication Union awarded the Moldova IT Park with a certificate for the idea of raising Moldova’s digital economy competitiveness and declared it as one of the world’s best practices on promoting and developing IT ecosystem.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the Union highly appreciated the complex approach of encouraging entrepreneurship in the field of environment for businesses, the ability of changing the state of things in localities and the potential for growth.

The Union also outlined eight global practices, which will be spread in other countries for supporting IT companies and creation of highly paid jobs.

As Infotag has already reported, the Moldova IT Park was founded on January 1, 2018 and includes over 500 residents including 122 – with foreign capital. Investments come from 32 countries, mostly from the US, Romania and the Great Britain.

Infotag’s dossier: In 1H2019 the volume of sales of resident companies exceeded 1.58 billion lei. 81% revenues – from exports, while the rest – from local trade. 8.5 thousand people are working in the park, mostly in the field of informational technologies.
