FIA PRESENTS NEW WHITE BOOK WITH PROPOSALS ON IMPROVING BUSINESS CONDITIONS

The Foreign Investors Association presented on Wednesday the 6th White Book, in which country’s best experts presented proposals for improving conditions business.

The FIA, made of around 20 large foreign investors, represents in the Republic of Moldova the foreign mother companies, which made large investments in the Moldovan economy.

In a welcoming address to investors, Prime Minister Maia Sandu thanked the FIA or the invitation, saying that her Government is doing its best to create transparent conditions for the economic activity.

“Only by means of developing economy, opening new jobs, we can improve living conditions for Moldovan citizens”, the premier said, expressing hope that the economic growth will allow population to remain in the country, will lead to returning home of those Moldovans who are currently working abroad.

Maia Sandu said that it is necessary to develop economy by means of growing labor productivity and the high quality of production, which will be demanded abroad due to its quality and competitive advantages.

She reminded that the main goal, which stands before her Government is the judiciary reform.

“This is our main priority. I hope you already managed to see how seriously the Government perceives this reform, understanding how important a transparent and fair judiciary is for citizens, businesses, investors”, the premier said.

She drew investors’ attention to efforts made by her Cabinet of Ministers in attracting external financial resources for economy development.

“Currently, we are working on preparing 2020 draft budget, which must grow, in order that the state to be able to improve the population living standards due to the raised revenues. For this, businesses have to pay all the taxes”, Sandu said.

The prime minister promised to foreign investors to closely analyze the FIA proposals on improving business environment and investment climate in Moldova.

“I and my colleagues in the Government will study the investors’ proposals to include them in normative acts, regulating the economic activity”, said the premier.

Chairman of the FIA association, Sudzucker Moldova Speaker of the Board Alexander Koss thanked the Premier for participation in the sitting, saying that the Association is working at creating attractive conditions for the entire Moldovan business.

“Our association has all the time been aside from political currents and political struggle in Moldova. Our main goal is successful business. We are trying to do everything for civilized business culture. We take methods of doing business in Moldova from mother companies”, Koss said, adding that 75% of FIA proposals have already been implemented or are in the process of implementation.
