22 octomber, 2019

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure proposed a number of civil society representatives, which will become members of leadership of energy companies of national importance.

According to the ministry, it is about electricity distribution enterprise RED-Nord, the Balti CET NORD heating station, the heating supply enterprise Termoelectrica and the Energocom state enterprise.

The team of the proposed experts are members of nongovernmental organizations Expert-Group, IDIS Viitorul, GFA Consulting Group GmbH, Watchdog. They are aimed at improvement of management, raising the efficiency of public property administration and maximizing the profit in the energy sector.

“We hope to raise transparency of energy companies, which before were a permanent source of income for pockets of some party officials, negatively affecting the electricity tariffs, obliging citizens to pay for services in volumes that sometimes exceed the sums of their salaries”, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Vadim Brinzan said.

According to him, the proposed civil society representatives may become members of advisors in enterprises, revision commissions, censorship committees. They may be appointed at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
