MOLDOVA AND RUSSIA AGREED ON RESOLVING SEVERAL ECONOMIC PROBLEMS

Last week, Moldovan Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ion Perju visited Moscow, within which a range of agreements on relevant economic problems have been achieved, wrote President Igor Dodon on Facebook.

He wrote that the minister reported about his meeting with Russia's Co-Chairman of the Moldova-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation Dmitry Patrushev.

According to Dodon, the following important agreements have been achieved:

1 thousand permits for road cargo transportation (aka dozvols) for 2020 already arrived to Moldova, and if necessary, their amount may be raised;

Starting from 2020, the list of fruit and vegetable importers to the Russian market will be extended to 350 from 130 Moldovan companies;

Starting from January 1, 2020, the list of categories of goods that will be delivered to the Russian market without levying customs fees will be extended. It is about beef, sunflower seeds, sugar, ethanol and furniture. Currently, five categories of goods are exempted from customs duties: vegetables; fresh apples, pears and quinces; apricots and cherries; canned vegetables and wine.

"Besides, Mr. Perju said that he addressed to the RosPotrebNadzor [Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being] with a demand to inspect 33 more winemaking companies and 4 canned food factories for providing to them the access to the Russian market", Dodon wrote.

He also wrote that dialog will be continued within his visit to Moscow this week, where he will meet President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, the President Vladimir Putin's Special Representative for Trade and Economic Relations with Moldova.
